Pieces in Motion
Layers of paint, paper, pattern and expressive marks move across the canvas in different directions. Bold turquoise fragments intersect with black gestures and playful white lines, while unexpected bits of color and texture emerge from beneath the surface. Pieces in Motion celebrates the energy created when separate elements come together. Each piece seems to follow its own path, yet the layers, lines and colors connect to create a lively composition filled with movement and discovery.
I have always looked at the world through artists’ eyes; I see color and vibrancy. I see ordinary or discarded things and think, “I can create something with that?”
That curiosity is an important part of my art. I enjoy experimenting with paint, paper, fibers, recycled materials and found objects; combining them with color and texture to create something entirely different from where they began. Sometimes it’s the unusual material that inspires the whole piece.
I rarely start with a finished image in mind. I build, layer, experiment and change things as I go, allowing the artwork to develop through the process. Pieces like The Secret Garden show how layers of color, texture and unexpected details can gradually grow into something that invites the viewer to explore. In my recycled packing-material piece, Second Life, is an example of how something designed simply to protect a package became the starting point for a unique piece work of art.
I want people to come closer, notice something they didn’t see at first, and perhaps discover something completely different from what I see. Every piece I create is a unique original, shaped by the materials, the process and the discoveries I make along the way.
For me, creating art is about curiosity, experimentation and discovering possibilities in unexpected places.
